Crazy Glasses Challenge: Overview

Crazy Glasses Challenge: Overview

- in Bundesliga

Ever wondered what it’s like to play football blindfolded? You’re about to find out, thanks to the Bundesliga’s latest innovation: the ‘Crazy Glasses Challenge’.

Granted, there’s no actual blindfold involved, but with players having to don various mind-bending goggles as they attempt to score goals and hit specific targets, it is football as the Bundesliga pros have never seen before. Which team will be crowned winner of the Crazy Glasses Challenge?

Bayer Leverkusen

Wolfsburg, Freiburg, VfB Stuttgart

Hoffenheim

Borussia Dortmund

The challenge explained

Kaleidoscope glasses

In the first competition, the teams wear kaleidoscope glasses which contain small mirrors that split the light and therefore distort the view. Every player then gets five shots on goal. A successful hit is worth 25 points, a shot against the crossbar a cool 100.

Reversal glasses

The second challenge uses glasses that mirror the world… in so far as right becomes left and vice versa. Each player can two shots inside 60 seconds. There are 100 points for every goal scored.

Outside-the-body glasses

In the third and final competition there are 300 points per star up for grabs. With the final pair of glasses, the players see themselves from behind – as if they were playing the career mode of EA Sports’ FIFA 18. Each player gets three attempts. There are 25 points for a goal, and up to 100 points for well-placed finishes.
