Galtier staying put at LOSC

Christophe Galtier and LOSC have confirmed that the head coach, who arrived in December 2017, will still be on the Dogues’ bench for the 2018-19 Ligue 1 Conforama season.

LOSC boss Christophe Galtier announced on Thursday that he will remain on the LOSC bench next season, scotching doubts about his future at the club after he helped them to ensure their imperiled Ligue 1 Conforama survival.

“I undertake to put absolutely all my energy, along with all the other elements at the club, to give the supporters and all the people in the North a much happier season 2018-19,” Galtier declared in an interview published on the club’s official website. “The club expressed their desire to continue working with me, and I wanted to continue my work with LOSC.”

Continuity

“Yes, Christophe is the coach of LOSC. I’m very happy about it, but really for us it’s about a logical and natural continuity,” said club president Gérard Lopez, also on the club’s website. “The desire to collaborate is a communal one, and this made everything very clear to the parties involved. Simply put, there were a few fundamental steps that needed to be taken before implementing the plan that we all wanted put in place. We did that, calmly, step by step.”

Concerning the transfer market, Galtier was open about his desire to bolster a squad that was put together to the specifications of former coach Marcelo Bielsa.

“We need to quickly get to work on the composition of our squad,” the former ASSE coach announced. “It’s clear that we need to bring in some experience to help our young players, who have huge potential.”

LOSC are scheduled to being pre-season training at the domaine de Luchin on June 27.
