Neymar was voted player of the year in Ligue 1 Conforama for his 19 goals and 13 assists. Kylian Mbappé was named young player of the year at the Trophées UNFP.
Neymar received his prize from another Brazilian great, Ronaldo, a reward for the impact the world’s most expensive player made in his 20 league appearances before injury curtailed his season.
Accepting the prize, Neymar said: “I would like to thank all my team-mates, the whole team. I am very emotional and I am very happy with our season.”
Mbappé won the young player of the year prize for the second season running, following his breakthrough season with Monaco. Quadruple-winning PSG unsurprisingly scooped the big prizes as Unai Emery was named coach of the year and seven PSG players made the team of the season.
Malcom of Bordeaux got best goal for his wonder strike against Dijon in September and Steve Mandanda of Olympique de Marseille was named best goalkeeper for the fifth time.
